On the Name
Tero and Leon collaborated on projects first and formalized the company only later — by which point every AI-themed name worth having was claimed, and every matching .com was either taken or priced like beachfront real estate. So Tero, co-founder and creative director, leaned on AI itself and coined a fresh word — TeleKai. The meaning:
The company Tero and Leon opened (Kai) together.
Tele — to teleport to the future. K — the key that opens it. ai — the future we're heading toward.
Both founders' Chinese given names share the character for “sky.” Pair that with TeleKai's phonetics, and the brand's Mandarin half-twin landed: “TianKai” — half of an old idiom that usually translates as “pie in the sky.” Thanks to AI, the idiom finally has a way to come down to earth, with a fresh undertone of dare-to-dream-and-ship.
